Using a Thermostat With Your Frost Fighter IDF 500

When renting many of our products, you have the option to also rent a thermostat. Some of our customers find that this makes our heaters more user-friendly. Using the thermostat is simple!

How to Use a Thermostat With the Frost Fighter IDF 500

Watch below as our technician walks you through the process.

Transcript: I’m going to demonstrate the thermostats for these units, which are optional to rent.

Standard adjustment knob, from high to low. On the side of the burner, you’ll see an outlet built onto the unit, so you end up plugging in the thermostat.

And where you see the toggle, the top is manual, the bottom is thermostat, so you’re going to switch this to thermostat. So now, this entire unit is being run from this thermostat. You can hang this up in the building to regulate the air temperature inside the building.

The units will run on either number one diesel, or number two, does not matter, I just highly recommend to winterize all the fuels while using them during the colder months.

While the unit’s on, you’ll see the green light on the burner, I’m going to lower the thermostat. Youll see that green light go off, but the fan will stay on to cool the unit. Green light and the burner goes off, the unit will stay running to cool the unit as a safety. I’ll reingage it again, it’ll kick back on again.

To turn down the unit, either turn down the thermostat or turn it off at the toggle switch.
