As temperatures begin to drop, restaurants with ample outdoor seating have started to get creative. Several national retailers have already begun to make preparations for a safer alternative during the growing pandemic: heated tents for patrons.
Recently we received a call from one of our customers, who handles national restaurant and retail chains, informing us that one of their restaurant chains was looking for outdoor temperature heating at several locations.
Indirect Fired Heater Rental in NJ
We know that direct-fired heaters aren’t an option for dining situations due to safety guidelines and open flames in a restaurant atmosphere, so instead, we installed an indirect fired heater into an outdoor tent. This method safely introduces clean, dry, and hot air into the space.

Based on the size of the tent we determined our IDF200 indirect fired heaters would be the best fit. We installed ducting and mounted a chimney on the unit, which allows all fumes and combustion to travel outside of the tent away from the enclosed dining area.
Once propane was delivered to the site, we were able to hook up the unit and begin running! For this project, we offered turnkey installation and instruction. The unit is capable of running on “thermostat” mode, which allows the unit to kick on and off based on the temperature inside the tent, offering a consistently comfortable temperature for its guests.
