Portable heaters are the perfect solution for temporary heat control. Whether you are looking to warm up your construction site, commercial building, event or retail space, a rented portable heater can deliver heat safely and efficiently.
At Priority Rental, all of our units are simple to use! Let’s explore how to operate one of our most popular direct fired units, the DF-400.
DF-400 Direct Fired Heater
Operation: During the install process, you will want to hook up the propane lines and use a 10-gauge extension cord to power this unit. Since this unit houses a direct flame, there are several safeties in place. Make sure you are familiar with each safety and ensure your gas values are turned on to the correct fuel source: propane or natural gas.
Safety Features: Always make sure you install your unit away from a wall or anything that could block the burner. If the burner is blocked, the unit will automatically shut down and the burner light will switch from green to red. If this takes place, turn off the unit, make sure nothing is obstructing the burner, and then turn the unit back on. You should see the burner light turn green again, which means the unit is running normally again.
Air Proving Switch: Typically, we install these units in dusty areas like construction sites; however, if your unit accumulates too much dust, your system won’t work properly. To clear any dust build up, locate the air proving switch under the burner panel. Once you open the burner panel, you will see the air proving switch and a hose that allows the accordion to free up any dust. Unplug the hose, blow into it, replug, close the panel and turn the unit back on.
