Air Scrubbers work to clean out contaminated air using a series of filters. They are perfect for remediation projects, construction sites, healthcare industries or for any building where clean air guidelines are required.
Before you rent air scrubber units, you will want to calculate the total cubic feet of the space, then determine how many air changes are necessary per hour to find the right unit or units for the job.
What is an Air Change?
Air changes refer to the amount of times the air needs to be exchanged every hour in a given space. It is important to understand how many air exchanges your space requires because this value can vary depending on the industry.
A healthcare facility with strict air quality guidelines may need a larger exchange rate of clean air per hour than perhaps a warehouse.

What is CFM?
CFM, or cubic feet per minute, is a measurement provided by the manufacturer that refers to the number of cubic feet per minute an air scrubber can cover while cleaning the air in a given space.
Although a unit may specify a higher CFM, that doesn’t necessarily mean it is more efficient at cleaning the air because it really depends on the layout of your space. If you are trying to filter the air in a space that has multiple rooms, you might consider a variety of units to prevent stale pockets of air from accumulating in areas where the unit isn’t capable of covering. Stale pockets can usually take place in smaller spaces and hallways.
