When you rent an air conditioner, it is important to understand some common warning indicators. Most AC problems occur because of issues with airflow or power requirements.
If your spot cooler has an error code listed, refer to the list of codes below to determine what the problem is. If you are having a problem with your unit, please call us immediately at 800-810-4181. Always remember that if you are restarting the unit, for any reason, be sure to place the unit back on “cool” mode.
Spot Cooler Errors & Warning Indicators
- “E1” – High Pressure: The pressure of the compressor is too high and the high pressure switch is open. The ‘Error’ LED will be on.
- Solution: Ensure exhaust duct is not blocked/kinked. Do not use the air conditioner if ambient temperature is higher than 113° F.
- “E2” – Low Pressure: The pressure of the compressor is too low. The ‘Error’ LED will be on.
- Solution: Clean filters & coils. Verify Power. Check filters evaporator/condenser. Check evaporator/condenser coils. Check refrigerant level and/or refrigerant leak.
- “E3” – Sensor Problem: The temperature sensor is short circuited or cut. The ‘Error’ LED will be on.
- Solution: Exchange temperature sensor.
- “E4” – Compressor Problem: Occurs when the over current from the compressor is detected.
- Solution: Verify Power (Voltage/Amps). Check flex for restrictions.
- “E5” – Fan Motor Problem: Occurs when the over current from the fan motor is detected.
- Solution: Verify Power (Voltage/Amps). Check flex for restrictions.
- “E6” – Blower Motor Problem: Occurs when the over current from the blower motor is detected.
- Solution: Verify Power (Voltage/Amps). Check flex for restrictions.
- “FU” – Condensation Water Tank Full: FU will be displayed on our units and the “Water Full” LED light will be on. *Tank should be emptied on a daily basis*
- Solution: Empty the water tank.
- “AF” – Anti-freezing: The temperature of the evaporator is below 28° F. “AF” is displayed and the ‘Error’ LED is on.
- Solution: Do not use the unit in an ambient temperature less than 72° F. Check refrigerant level.
- “AL”– Fire Alarm Signal: Reset the unit by pushing and holding the “OFF TIMER” button for 5 seconds.
- Solution: Reset the unit by pushing and holding the “OFF TIMER” button for 5 seconds.
