Watch below to learn how to operate the heater safely and efficiently.

Transcript: This is our 400,000 BTU Direct Fire Heater. They’re all UL listed, there’s a lot of safeties built onto these units, so at any condition, it’s there to protect the unit as well as the customer.

So after we hook up the propane lines you also want to use a 10 gauge extension cord to power the unit. You have to make sure your gas valves are on to allow the gas to flow.

This red valve here is to demonstrate in the position it’s in, against the pipe is propane, and with the pipe, it’s running on natural gas, so it can run on either or.

Over here, we’ll start the unit. You have manual and thermostat, thermostat’s actually built off on the side, so we’re actually going to start the unit in manual. The green light demonstrates that the unit is fired. So as the unit turns on, it proves air. If the air is not proved, the unit will go off.

What we mean by direct fire, the fire’s exposed. So ,you have a mixture of air and combustion gases. These heaters are ideal for open construction areas with very limited insulation and windows, allowing the venting outside of the gases that are combusted off the unit.

To turn the unit off, just go right back to the off position and it turns off instantly.

Check out the 2 400,000 BTU heaters we have for rent, the S405 Direct Fired Heater and the DF-400 Direct Fired Heater.
